Reflect Blog 2

What personal principles did you adhere to before entering this course and where did they come from? Were they taught to you? Did you develop them on your own? How have our readings and discussions impacted those principles? Of the principles covered which are you drawn to the most and why?

The principles that I adhered before  I entered this class was to live a life that pleases a high authority and to adhere by the golden rule and all of that be nice and treat others w/ respect and so much more. I grew up in a Christian family. I was taught to always be myself and to not imitate, to work hard and follow my dreams as well as life a live that reflects my faith. I was taught these principles by my parents, church members and some life experiences of myself. This is a factor that has helped me shape up the being that I am.

The biggest reading thatI have been drwan to was the Prolouge by Nagel. This reading has the auhtor arguing of what it really means to live a life. But it also attacks society as a whole mention that whatever one did in his/her life would no longer matter ponce he/she passes from the earth. After reading this, I realize that yes sometimes life is worth living and it all depends how you choose live it.

For example if you are a gamer who blows his money on craps and complains about on how much you hate life then that is your fault. That person decided to live a crappy life of flase hope and luck because he/she is not responsible w/ finances; a real example is popstar Whitney Houston, she knew her life was worth living but because of her false choices she ended up a miserbale wretch and died poor and sad. But it can happen to anyone, even a biblebelting goody two shoes can wound up in a hellhole.

Overall this reading taught is one thing, life isn't fair but don't get used to it. Make the right moves and your life will be worth living, but still will people ever care about you a century later when you're dead? Maybe? Also the other readings were just baffling, the other readings did not necessarily reflect the views of my life but I did get a good wisdom learning, speaking of wisdom I feel sorry for the Arthur of the Taoist writings he/she has interesting logic  but that author should punch a ticket to Hoboken and experinece life themselves.
